Terms of Service

By creating an account or using RentLens, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

RentLens is a rental analytics tool for Ontario renters and property owners. It estimates fair market rent, checks rent increases against the Ontario guideline, and helps you compare moving vs staying.

Estimates are informational only. They are not an appraisal, and not financial or legal advice. Always confirm important decisions with the appropriate professional or the Landlord and Tenant Board.

You're responsible for the information you add and for keeping access to your account secure. Provide accurate information — RentLens is only as good as the data in it.

You keep ownership of the property information, leases, and photos you upload. You grant RentLens permission to store and process that content to provide the service — including AI processing of lease documents to extract key terms, and using verified data in anonymized, aggregated form to improve estimates (see the Privacy Policy, and your contribution settings, for details).

You agree not to:

• submit fake, manipulated, or deliberately misleading data;
• create duplicate or fraudulent property listings;
• attempt to manipulate market estimates;
• scrape, resell, or misuse the service or other users' data.

To keep estimates trustworthy, RentLens automatically detects duplicates and suspicious values, and authorized staff may review, flag, verify, merge, or remove data, and suspend accounts that abuse the service. This review is part of operating RentLens and is not optional.

The Rental Passport lets you build a rental application profile and share a snapshot of it, at your choice, with a landlord or realtor. You control what each share includes and can revoke or expire it at any time.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you add, and for having permission to include another person's information (such as a reference or guarantor) before you do. Only include documents you have the right to share.

RentLens does not verify, endorse, score, or rank you, and does not vouch for a Passport's contents beyond what a label explicitly states (for example, a “RentLens verified tenancy” confirms only the tenancy relationship on record). Recipients are independent third parties; how they use information you share with them is outside our control and governed by their own practices and applicable law. RentLens is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any rental decision, application, or agreement between you and a recipient.

We may update the service and these terms; we'll update the date above when we do. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
